PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Patent Examiner in the Biotechnology Patent Division at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI); Specialized in Biotechnology Patents at Basham, Ringe y Correa, C. S. since February 1997 to date. His practice focuses on Industrial Property Law in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceutical and life sciences; and plant varieties. Assistance to clients in the preparation and prosecution of patents involving a wide variety of biotechnology technologies in national and international patent portfolios.
EDUCATION
Biologist, Universidad Autónoma Nacional de México (UNAM), and has taken courses in Molecular Biology and Genetics Sciences at CINVESTAV-INP; and several courses on intellectual property of substantive examination in biotechnological patents given by IMPI, USPTO EPO and WIPO; and others on Plant Breeder's Rights by CIT-UNAM, SNICS-SAGARPA, and UPOV.
