VOLUNTARY LABOR VERIFICATION PROGRAM.

Mexico City, November 4th, 2021.

On November 1st, 2021, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (“STPS” for its acronym in Spanish) published in the Federal Official Gazette an “Agreement to create the Voluntary Labor Verification Program” (the “Program”) so that employers that so decide, declare the level of compliance they have in their work centers on issues such as (i) General Work Conditions; (ii) Training and Teaching and (iii) Health and Safety, among others.

The intention is that employers have alternative mechanisms that allow them in a simple, transparent, friendly and free of charge manner, to show compliance with the obligations that derive from labor regulations with the support of information technologies.

Those employers who decide to declare through the Program and have the satisfactory acknowledgment of receipt from the STPS, will be exempt from ordinary inspection visits at the work centers participating in the Program.

The STPS must publish the operating procedure for the Program within the following 60 calendar days from the entry into force of the published Agreement, that is, one day after its publication on November 2nd, 2021.
